RS Feva Rig setup, Upwind Speed

SAILOR BETH NAMED NORTH EAST REGIONAL YOUTH CHAMPION

Harrogate schoolgirl Beth Miller has won the Royal Yachting Association’s Regional Youth Champion Award for the North East following a world-class season of success.

The St Aidan’s CE High School pupil is a member of Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club and one of 11 promising young sailors and windsurfers from across the UK to have been revealed as winners in the annual awards.

Eleven promising sailors and windsurfers from across the UK have been revealed as winners of the RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards.

Sunday only and focus was on gybing. The wind built all day and after we had completed the exercises we went upwind for a blast back down.

Heavy wind training focusing on tight reaching.

Only 1 capsize during the morning season.

We learnt so much about bearing away in the gusts and easing the main and asymmetric as we bear away. timing and crew work/communication so important.

RYA North East REGION Champion 2018

Erica Caswell from Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club nominated me and I was selected for RYA North East REGION Champion 2018.

This means I now have to go to the RYA dinghy show on the 3rd of March to pick up the award.
