Rs Feva Fleet Eric Twiname Championships 2019
1st all Girl crew
3rd overall
North Zone junior sailors top zone Trophy
High winds greeted us on the first day of the regatta with gusts measuring over 35 knots. On the first day, we were sent out in very high winds, and we unfortunately capsized and were forced to forfeit the regatta. However, on day 2 we had two races finishing 2nd and 3rd which moved us up to the third place. The last day gave us some medium conditions and good gusts. We messed up two starts but managed to climb through the fleet leaving us with a 4th and 5th. In the last race, we had a great start and were first around the windward mark. places were constantly changing between 1st, 2nd, 3rd but we sailed well and came out with a 1st in the last race. Overall, we came 3rd and first girls.
Top results for our North East sailors included Esme Barraclough/William Bailey and Beth Miller/Tilda Brayshay from Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club taking podium spots with 2nd and 3rd overall in the RS Fevas, while in the 70+ Optimist fleet, Pete Cowley from Kielder Water Sailing Club claimed 11th overall and in the 85-boat Topper fleet, Tom Bates from Ripon Sailing Club was 10th! North Lincolnshire & Humberside SC fielded a strong team of windsurfers with some great results including second in the Techno 6.9 for Charlie Bennett.
